Increasing communication goes a long way in improving patient perception. There is no substitute for physicians and staff who communicate well. But videos provide another crucial touch-point for making sure patients have all the information they need. Video messaging can also provide a necessary bridge for patients who are auditory learners or retain information better by watching a video rather than reading a packet. Sending video messages after surgery also reminds patients that you care about their recovery and makes them feel valued.

Your video content can cover everything from what to bring on the day of surgery to how to get into bed after a joint replacement. These messages can be automated and personalized based on the patient’s medical record, thus reducing the volume of necessary pre-op and post-op phone calls.
Boosting compliance and outcomes
Repetition is the key to retaining new information. The more times you relay instructions to your patients, the more likely they are to comply to their treatment plan. And, obviously, better patient compliance means better outcomes.
With a video, you can reiterate pre-op and post-op instructions to ensure that patients are prepared. And patients need not rely on their memories, notes, or reading through a large packet of information. Instead, they can access these videos as many times as needed. This increase in compliance means less cancellations for your surgery center and better recovery for your patients.
